Although tele-health, remote, and virtual platforms are relatively new to the counseling profession, many clients express their pleasant surprise at how comfortable and convenient it is for them. I do my part to create a safe and therapeutic space for each of clients, regardless of where we are.

Where will we meet and what equipment do I need?

I currently use Sessions by Psychology Today to meet my clients virtually. For the best experience, you will need a strong wifi connection, a tablet or laptop, and comfortable headphones.

Is virtual therapy private and secure?

Yes! I only use platforms that take privacy and security very seriously and implement state of the art security and encryption protocols to assure that data integrity and privacy is maintained. Sessions by Psychology Today complies with HIPAA, GDPR, PHIPA/PIPEDA, & HITECH requirements.

Will I need to download any software to join the meeting?

Absolutely not! Your convenience is important to me. All you need to do is click a link, type in your name, and I’ll be there to meet you. However, you can download the Sessions app for added convenience.

How do I know I won’t be recorded?

I abide by the ethics of my profession and I will not record a session without the client’s knowledge and written permission.

What if I live with others and have no privacy?

There are many options to get privacy for your session. You can reserve a study room at your local library, go to a local park, use an office at work, or even sit in your car or closet!
